Unless it's this one, I didn't find it.
I wish I had my Sally o
Sally o, Sally o
I wish I had my Sally o
Where the wild birds sing on the mountain

That is Tommy Makem--is it the right one?

Not much info at The Fiddler's Companion. Moreover, this might be a different tune:

SALLY-O. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Mississippi. A Major. Recorded for the Library of Congress in 1939 by Herbert Halpert from the playing of Clarke County, Mississippi, fiddler Charles Long (originally from Choctaw County, Alabama).

Thanks, Masato. This may well be a song written for the band or by
Gary Brewer. Jim

Thanks, Sorcha, I really like this one, but it still ain't it. Check out Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers, you can hear just a little bit of it. I would blue click you the address, but I have not yet learned how.(Heck, I can just now tie my own shoes) Jim

PS, According To Cody: The shortest distance between two points must also include running full out through Mammas flower beds. J

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead to try one more time. I would love to sing this for some old folks that I visit. Jeep

Thanks Sorcha, I emailed Brewer and he answered with the address where I can get the CD.

Cody is busy being Cody. He came to me this morning with a huge cucumber in his mouth. Looked like a giant green cigar. I called him Dumb Dog and of course he got all happy and ran off to chase a bird out of his yard. Jim
