By the way, Newman Levy, back in the 1920's, did a series of similar verse-synopses of operas and plays. We have the words to Carmen and Thais in the DT. You might wish to look at them. |

27 Oct 96 - 12:26 PM (#162) Subject: RE: Lyric: Adam McNaughtan's From: Alex Dick, I found it. I had written to Adam McNaughtan a couple of years ago to get the words and I thought I had given away all the copies I had made. But after about two hours of looking through boxes and boxes of papers, words, music, I found a copy which I will send to you. He calls it "The Scottish Song". Glad to see the DT back on the Web - I have found it most useful when researching some of the songs I have enjoyed. Keep up the good work. I have bunches of songs and songbooks I brought over from Scotland which may have some of those you are looking for. Email me at NFHJ69A @ PRODIGY.COM if there is any you have been unable to get and I will have a look. It is unfortuneately very disorganized and may take some time. Alex. |
