November 15 is the deadline for receipt of entries for the 9th Annual New Folk Showcase competition of the 29th Annual New Jersey Folk Festival (festival will be held Saturday, April 26, 2003). All "folk" genres are encouraged to enter (e.g. folk, blues, bluegrass, etc.). Full entry details with application on line at: http://njfolkfest.rutgers.edu. Attention Musicians / Bands / Singer Songwriters - The first deadline is coming up on Nov 15th for Winterfolk submissions from artists. Winterfolk has created showcase opportunities for musicians! We are accepting applications to fill twenty performance spots in our festival. Toronto's newest folk, roots and blues festival is now accepting showcase submissions from emerging artists. "Winterfolk" takes place January 31 - February 2, 2003 at five prime downtown TO venues. But to my way-out-west-in-Kansas way of thinking, the NJ festival looks like a waste of time if you don't live in the NYC metro/Philly metro area.
