09 Nov 02 - 06:40 PM (#822453) Subject: UK Guitarists : Don't miss Doyle Dykes From: Murray MacLeod Fortuitously, I surfed onto Doyle Dykes website tonight and saw that he is currently on tour in Britain. His remaining UK dates are 11-10-02 Birmingham, England Music Live 2002 NEC 1:00 p.m. 0121 767 4557 11-11-02 *Birmingham, England* Sound Control 7:30 p.m. 0121 248 5868 11-12-02 *Leeds, England* The Wardrobe ~Presented by Music Ground, Academy of Sound, and Sound Control 7:30 p.m. 0113 240 5077 11-13-02 *Glasgow, Scotland* Sound Control 7:30 p.m. 0141 204 0322 11-14-02 *Wilmslow, England* Belfry House Hotel ~Presented by Sounds Great 7:30 p.m. 0161 436 4799 11-16-02 Leicester, England Acoustic Avalon ~Presented by Sheehan's Music~ 8:00 p.m. 0116 255 7492 11-17-02 *Leicester, England* Acoustic Avalon ~Presented by Sheehan's Music~ 4:00 p.m. 0116 255 7492 If you have never seen Doyle Dykes, nor even heard of him, I would urge you to try to make it to one of these shows. I have seen him once in Florida and he is a truly phenomenal guitar player. These shows are usually done as promotions for Taylor guitars (he is kind of worldwide roving ambassador for Taylor guitars) and are free to attend as far as I remember. I should mention that Doyle is an evangelical Christian, and makes this apparent during his performance, but I would urge anybody who disagrees with his views not to let this affect their attending one of his shows. Trust me, he is one of the true greats. You will be amazed. I shall certainly be at his Glasgow show on Tuesday Murray |

14 Oct 04 - 07:02 PM (#1297274) Subject: RE: UK Guitarists : Don't miss Doyle Dykes From: Murray MacLeod I don't know for sure, breezy, but I think they are. I am fairly sure Taylor underwrites the costs, and the "Presented by XXXXXXXXX" will be local instrument retailers (who obviously will be hoping to take orders for Taylor guitars) He really is an incredible guitar player, well worth checking out ... |
