Chris Barber's bass playing

just been cleaning the windows, a job I do religiously every few years whether they need it or not. So I made a cup of coffee, put on a Lonnie Donegan record, and sat on the couch and looked at the picture of Lonnie in my little shrine in the niche by the TV. You need inspiration after cleaning the windows.
And listening to Railroad Bill, I thought what a fantastic bit of bass playing Chris Barber puts in on that track. If he'd never picked up a trombone, and never run a jazz band in his life, I'd love him just for that one bit of music.
Another good bit on that song is the guitar fluffs on the intro and outro. One of Lonnie's many valuable lessons for us all; bum notes dont matter.

Greg, dont have any of that stuff available to listen to but, as a bass player myself I would love to hear what you are refering to. Do you know of a link to somewhere on the net where I could listen to the track you are refering to? I am not much good at all this stuff so I would probably spend hours trying to find it!
