15 Nov 02 - 04:05 AM (#826642) Subject: RE: Marilyn Middleton-Pollok From: GUEST,MCP She's still playing over here, often in conjunction with clarinet player Steve Mellor, or as a trio (with Grant Baynham on guitar) called It's The Girl (album Stuff, IIRC, released last year). I also have a feeling she's booked at breezy's club soon. Mick |

15 Nov 02 - 07:30 AM (#826738) Subject: RE: Marilyn Middleton-Pollok From: harvey andrews Marilyn is married to Steve, they live in Malvern and have a bed and breakfast business. She stood in for Rick Fielding on a concert in Stafford recently and did a great job for us belting it out as well as ever and giving us a couple of Stan Rogers songs. |

15 Nov 02 - 10:56 AM (#826910) Subject: RE: Marilyn Middleton-Pollok From: Dita Marilyn played the Star in Glasgow, about six months ago, her only folk gig in years, she said. Sandy Stanage, who was also a member of Scotland Yard, along with MMP and Ian Bruce, came down from Fife as a surprise, and ended up doing all the second half with her, as well as the floor spot he'd agreed to do to do. Since her marrage to Steve she works on the Jazz scene as Marilyn Mellor. She was sounding and looking good, same old Marilyn, and enjoyed playind catch-up with her West Coast (of Scotland) friends. love, john. |

Heather and I met Marilyn in a folk club in York, on our honeymoon 14 years ago. She sang some Mike Smith songs, and a plaintive ballad called "the Man In The Moon" that I loved. Rick |

17 Nov 02 - 02:39 AM (#828223) Subject: RE: Marilyn Middleton-Pollok From: GUEST,Boab As soon as the Lady awakes, tell her that Boab is glad to have tracked her to her lair!! Just mention the big skinny guy who met her one day years back when she lived in Irvine---it was in the park, and poor wee Marilyn had a vicious laryngitis [and a basket of blackberries, if I remember rightly] and this grey-heidit character had a basket of mushrooms. I managed to persuade her that day to take some and try them---did she ? Ach!--I'll e-mail; the Lady anyway!! |
