Hullo! I'm looking for the lyrics to a song called "The Rigs of the Time". It's not in the DB. Can anyone help me?

Yes, it is in the DT. I searched for rigs time as two words with no brackets and it was the 4th hit

and WITH brackets [rigs of the],it is the ONLY hit--and it is right there in the R list in the index.I'd sure like to look over peoples shoulders sometimes to see why they are unable to find some songs:perhaps the guide could be re-written to provide better instructions.

Whatever the reason, welcome Matts hope you get the lyrics you were looking for.

Some people, just because they like\know chat lists more than data bases, are always going to come to the message list with thier first requests. Thats OK, I'd forgotten about Rigs o the Time and now its in my traveling song book. Thanx Matts.

Nice song. Not much change to human nature in the past few centuries.

I tend to get peeved when people request rather common songs that are in the database, since it's gotten so easy for me to find songs online. Now I'm working on a library computer that is a lot more basic than what I have at home, and I can see it would be a lot harder for people to find songs if their Web access is limited. I guess that's a reason for us to learn to be patient with people who aren't "regulars."

Rigs of Time can be found on Martin Carthy's album "OTt of the Cut", Topic Records TSCD 426. I also recorded it on "MacPherson's Lament" with a few new verses.
