20 Nov 02 - 07:06 AM (#830562) Subject: Roger's Birthday Bash. UK From: Sir Roger de Beverley Due to an administrative cockup the next acoustic workshop (Sun Inn, Beverley on alternate Tuesdays) will not be taking place on Dec 3rd as planned (they've booked a hypnotist instead - OK, we did all the jokes last night.) So, we have decided to run it next week instead and, as the 26th is also my 56th birthday, have a birthday celebration as well. All friends and strangers are most welcome on Tuesday 26th from 8pm or you could come to the Sun on Sunday afternoon for my "last Sunday of the month" session and help me celebrate early. You could also stay on in the evening to see that fine band Cara. Or, if you are feeling really adventurous, you could do all three. ps Ossonflags and Deanmeister are starting the Sunday session at 4pm as I will be a little late arriving. Roger |

UK From: Sir Roger de Beverley One of the reasons I tend to base myself in the Sun Inn is the mere 400 yard walk from my house (we don't do metres in the East Riding) so I appreciate your dilemma Genie. Thanks for the best wishes anyway. R |

21 Nov 02 - 07:37 AM (#831486) Subject: RE: Roger's Birthday Bash. UK From: Sir Roger de Beverley Bring it up as often as you like mate - as the actress said to the bishop. BTW did you know that actress and bishop jokes can be found in Dicken's Pickwick Papers - Sam Weller's father keeps adding "as the a said to the b" at the end of most of his sentences. R |

UK From: Sir Roger de Beverley Six years ago on my fiftieth I walked into the folk club to find that they had obtained a photograph of me aged 23 playing in a trio (1969 right)and you can guess at the hair length, flare width etc. Anyway, they had blown it up to poster size and stuck it on the wall above the spot where I usually sit - talk about before and after photographs.
