Does anyone have the lyric to the parody of the (Kinks?) song "Dedicated Follower of Fashion" which is a none to subtle attack on Thacherism?

Part of the chorus is: He stands up when they play the national anthem He's a forelock tugging,..... Rightwing Tory shit He's a dedicated follower of Thatcher.

And does any one know of it's origin. Thanks, Gerard

Here's a link to the chords and lyrics of the original (c.1966) version by the Kinks. Don't remember hearing this one at the time, but it seems to have been a none-too-subtle slam at Carnaby Streeters at the time of its release. From your description and snippet of lyrics, it sounds as though Ray and the lads reworked it in dishonor of Iron Maggie several decades later. Anyway, hope this helps you some...

We seemed to feel at the time that there were a lot of candidates for the title but that John Selwyn Gummer tried hardest to earn the title.
I would love the full lyrics too, still so relevant! After all who was the first person that Gordon invited for tea at no 10?
