23 Nov 02 - 08:19 PM (#833563) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: katlaughing Alison, About how much time does it entail? Just ballpark figure? Also, if you have the time, maybe a little bit on what has to be done? Thanks, kat |
23 Nov 02 - 08:24 PM (#833566) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: GUEST Depending on your computer skills, 2 hours to half a day max. It's just an MS publisher template with a few imported images |
23 Nov 02 - 08:26 PM (#833570) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: Helen alison, I'm a "definite maybe" for this, if I knew more about what/how/when etc. My work commitments for the year finish in a week or so and I love playing about with desktop publishing stuff. I'll admit I didn't buy the calendar so I'm a bit in the dark about the format/layout etc. Helen |
23 Nov 02 - 08:39 PM (#833581) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: Helen If GUEST is alison or someone who knows, then an estimated half a day on MS Publisher is well within my probability range. I'll volunteer. [Insistent inner voice of Helen: you idiot, woman, what do you think you're doing, volunteering! What next, volunteer to be Secret Santa Secretary next year?? H: Well, ye-e-e-es, I have already volunteered for that. Inner voice: harrumphhh! Stomp, stomp, stomp off into the distance.] Helen |
23 Nov 02 - 11:02 PM (#833650) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: alison guest wasn't me theoretically it doesn't take long... the hard bit is convincing people to send the photos..... but I have photos of about 18 catters at the moment I used microsoft publisher, it already has calendar templates.... what you need to do is reduce the photos to a usable size (using paintshop pro or photoshop or something like that).... maybe cobble a few together to fit them onto the page.... then reduce the size of everything so it is emailable..... slainte alison |

Look Kitty, you have lots of extra time, and a less dark winter

29 Nov 02 - 07:55 AM (#837042) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: Dave Bryant Are you going to be able to manage OK, Helen? You should have the nearly nude song/tune title depictions from ESSEX GIRL and myself - if you want any other type of photos let me know. |
29 Nov 02 - 09:12 AM (#837086) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: Bullfrog Jones Dave -- would 'I've Got A Lovely Bunch of Coconuts' cover both those depictions? Or am in the wrong thread? BJ |

29 Nov 02 - 11:38 PM (#837572) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: Helen Dave, Thanks for asking. I don't have any of the pix yet, but next week is soon enough because then I will be on hols. alison sent me some more specific info on how to do it, and what the layout is, etc, so I think it'll be fine. Not unlike a lot of other bits of amateur desktop publishing I've done. Helen |

30 Nov 02 - 05:11 PM (#837894) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: GUEST,Helen's Ubiquitous Secret Santa If I had only known, I'd have included a copy of Playboy or Penthouse to inspire you Helen. As it is: A package full of PURPLE is flying its way across the Atlantic (or Pacific) depending on which way the USPS decides to send it. The reindeer refuse to work pre-Christmas for less than double time and a half. Damn unions! (InoBu will get me for that but he has to figure out who I am). Be a good little girl and don't open the presents until 12/25/02! |
30 Nov 02 - 08:25 PM (#838036) Subject: RE: BS: alison can't do calendar From: Helen Hello, my SS. Me, good?? Wot a larf!! Funnily enough, I am about to start a 6 week tryout for editing crude rude & vulgar readers' contribution stories for a funny/soft porn mag targeted - what a surpise! - at yobbos (i.e. your average red-blooded male aptly described, although transplanted to Oz, in Dennis Leary's song called "I'm an Asshole"). Now, how is that for an interesting career move? Helen P.S. How can PURPLE be packaged? Has it been transmuted from abstractness into tangibility? |
