Came across this while working on genealogy and was struck by the line which is highlighted (by me.) Seems there ought to be a song in there. I am wondering if he made it, also!

I JOHN LYON, heretofore of New England beyond the Seas, nowe of late belonging vnto the Elizabeth ffrigott in the States Service, marriner, vnder the command of Captaine Colman, in consideration of the love and and affection which I bear vnto [p.34] Alice Linsey my loveinge Landladie for the great care she hath taken in my sickness, have given, graunted and confirmed vnto her all and singular my goods, etc.; provided always that if I live and escape this sickness, this present Deed of Guilt shall be voyd. Dated 29 Oct., 1657. Witnesses: William Sheare, Thomas Raistone, Francis Hodgson, Geo. Wyatt, scr. 30 October, 1658, admon to Alice Linsey, universal legatee. (P.C.C. Wotton 559.)

Did she nurse him?
Did he survive his sickness?

So, Kat, go on and write the song! It's there in the will, just waiting to find a way!
