Can anyone help me out with the words to the song that starts like this: don't roll them bloodshot eyes at me I can tell you've been out on a spree it's plain that you're lying when you say you've been crying don't roll them bloodshot eyes at me

I don't remember any of the verses, nor do I know to whom to credit the song. Thanks!

It's been a while and I don't remember the words, either. The song was done by Asleep At the Wheel, though.

From International Lyrics Playground:

BLOODSHOT EYES
Hank Penny (Some sources name Ruth Hall as co-writer; some name Harold Hensley)

1. Now, just because you're pretty and you think you're mighty wise,
You tell me that you love me, then you roll those big brown eyes.
When I saw you last week, your eyes were turnin' black.
Go find the guy that beat you up. ask him to take you back.

CHORUS: Don't roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
I can tell you've been out on a spree.
Now, it's plain that you are lyin'
When you say you've been cryin',
So don't roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

2. I used to spend my money just to make you look real sweet.
I wanted to be proud of you when we walk down the street.
Now don't ask me to dress you up in satin and in silk.
Your eyes look like two cherries in a glass of buttermilk.

3. Now, I guess our little romance has finally simmered down.
You should join a circus, man; you'd make a real good clown.
Your eyes look like a road map. I'm scared to smell your breath.
You'd better shut those peepers 'fore you bleed yourself to death.

[Recorded by Hank Penny in 1950; also recorded by Asleep at the Wheel, Pat Benatar, James "Thunderbird" Davis, Wynonie Harris, Jimmy Justice, and several others.]
