BS: New Height in Telemarketing Absurdity

We have an unlisted phone number so we don't get a lot of telemarketing calls. Most of the ones we do get are from the phone company wanting to sell us a new service we don't need. So tonight we get a telemarketing call from what used to be Ma Bell and what are they pitching? A new call-waiting service? No. A new call forwarding service? No. They're pitching a telemarketer blocking service! Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!! The only people from whom we receive telemarketing calls are wanting to sell us something to block themselves????? Is it any wonder all the telecommunications companies are going down the toilet?

If I hadn't already said "Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!", I'd say it again.

I too have hit a new telemarketing low. Dad ordered knives which were never delivered. Telemarketers follow up regularly to check on how I am enjoying my new cutlery AND offer an overpriced block in which to store them. When I say I never received the knives, I am told "A neighbor must have them" or "You must have them". AND when I insist that the F**K'N knives never arrived, I get "Oh my! We are behind in shipments. You will have them in seven to nine days. Now how about a block to store them in?" I hang up.

I know one thing....when you get the AUTOMATED calls, and there is no one there, because someone else answered first...if you do not hang up, it takes them 3 tries to break your connection! This ties up their line a bit. Anything to get back at them.

I got one today selling carpet cleaning...(recorded voice)...it did not SAY who it was...only that if you wanted carpets cleaned, press '1' and you get a human....so you MUST speak to a salesman in order to complain!...and even then it is probably not anyone who caused the call to be made in the first place....

as so eloquently said above...arrrrggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!
