Pearl wants us to quit after this one, I'm not so sure but we'll see how it goes before deciding. |

With the exception of going home this Saturday night, to meet our visitors from America, I was on site every minutes of every year (and some of the first, in independent republic of Knowl Hill, were very long days indeed with all the Brakspears beers to work through) If my memory serves me correctly, which is not so often these days, "Loving Joanna" made her maiden outing at the very first DD and as was fitting for the pub I sang Dave Houlden's "I need a pint of Brakspear" for all but the two years I lingered too long watching the Morris. All this is by way of thanking Tony and Pearl for the hard work and all the happy memories. Trayton. PS it was a true "Green Festival" we recycled a lot of old rubbish through the auction over the years and some of it more than once! |
