Was that you on the yahoo nyckelharpa forum? If so, was the harpa that had gone the one you were posting about the other day? Do you still need details of how to get one? If so, email me on scheffins@pop3.poptel.org.uk

Cheers
Sarah

hi, oh, this is for me, not an invitation to an open microphone event!!
yes i am getting a nyckelharpa--it is being pkg'd to be sent at this very moment!! yes i'm on the nyckelharpa list, and a few others as well.
the folk music'olt itme music lists i am on are usually quite quiet,
and i usually post the mud cat page info on theim and invite them all
to come here-0this list is so active and varied and such a great resource...(what does FAO mean??) I always see the forum before i see p.m.'s--hi all. Laurel aka open mike....

Good to hear we have another joining the nyckelharpa fraternity - glad you got one sorted out.

One tip when you get it - don't play for more than an hour at a time at first to get used to all the different muscles you are going to use ie neck, shoulder and forearm. A friend of mine decided to experiment with holding it differently and pulled a shoulder ligament very badly - so maybe the trad way is best.

Good luck and happy harpa-ing!

Cheers
Sarah

in making music no one should ever get hurt!!
last sunday at our contra dance, the guy with'
the sound system did not show up so we played
unplugged--had to work extra hard to be heard
over the caller, the clapping and dancing, the
stomping and whooping--but it all worked out!!
a good time was had by all--except maybe the
fiddler who had to put more elbow grease into
it to get the sound projected. the soon-to-be
happy harpa-er!!
