13 Dec 02 - 12:39 AM (#846453) Subject: BS: BBC's top ten tunes vote From: Coyote Breath My oldest daughter emailed me that the BBC is conducting a "Vote for your Favorite Tune" sort of thing and she has been urging all her friends to vote for "A Nation Once Again" by the Wolfe Tones. As an answer to the query Why? she suggests "800 years!" I did this just for fun and when visiting the site I found that while "A Nation Once Again" didn't make the top ten it DID show up as number twelve! I'm not sure just what that implies, if anything. But if the "contest" is still going on it might be interesting to participate and see what the results turn out to be. Surely Mudcatters might have quite a few interesting songs to suggest for a Top Ten List?! CB |

Scratch the surface, see what lies beneath. Davis was the leader of Young Ireland and died in 1848. He wrote other stuff as well, like "The West's Awake". Check him out. a.w. |
