We shall be returning Charlotte to University and visiting around the area after Christmas, does anyone know of any clubs or singarounds we could fit in, Fri Sat Sun or Monday evenings?

oh do you mean N Carolina? I saw the thread title and thought it was England. Please everybody, remember the same town names are found in different states and different countries.

Hi Alison .....

Saturday Night you could go to the Davy Lamp Folk Club (see link)
or Book B & B with Jim and Mu Wilkinson (you met them at Helmsley) and have a great night at Mickleby . It's a win /win situation.

Davy Lamp Folk Club

Monday is either THE SUN at Stockton or THE BRIDGE at Newcastle

Detail later about Friday and Sunday

I'd endorse what 'Nutty' has said.

You would have a great time at the 'Davy Lamp' the Doonan's are excellent value and fun.

I'd better book my tickets.

I hope Charlotte is having a great time and staying out of kloot !!!

all the very best.

Ritchie.

oh Charlotte is the girl. I thought you meant the town which is why I thought you might mean a different country. But it pays to be specific.

Yes, please. A bit of clarification as to what part of the world would be of help. I also thought you refered to the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina, USA.

The only Durham I know is a damn fine banjo player but he's been very quiet lately.

Bloomin' Yanks will pinch anything!
Durham is a city and a county and we 'ad it first!
No Charlotte lives in Kloot - should I worry?
She even knows the staff....
Will look you up soon thanks for the info

Also Durham is the only "County" in England as in County Durham.:0)

er not one to be picky but it is more commonly referred to as Co. Durham. But then Durham Uni (UK) is in the City of Durham (England) so the Co. is redundant.
Is there anything in Pity Me - that is the town (UK) not the sympathy vote. Must be specific you know..... EOE

To be really picky in speech it is always referred to as County Durham.

There is not a lot in Pity Me - not even the Little Sea after which the French named the place :0)
