Need American Festivals please

I'm working (again, still, finally) on a story about homemade music and would like to include a small sidebar on some of the bigger/better acoustic music festivals in the U.S.

could I have some suggestions please? And yes, you might have answered this before, but I can't find the flippin' thread and I'm in a hurry (story of my life).

The only one I know of personally is the Walnut Valley festival in Winfield, KS. I was going to include the Santa Fe Trails festival in Kansas City, but I heard it ended up on the chopping block.

What's the festival in Mystic, CT called? Others???

Shalom,
WyoWoman

Seattle Folklife is free and doesn't pay entertainers (for the most part..don't know for sure) and it is massive. Memorial day weekend. Probably some good web sites on it. mg

And I know "American" means anything from Canada to Cape Horn. I tried to correct myself in the thread name, but it was too late. I mean, in my geocentric way, the United States of America.

Hi WW. When you know which issue this story is going to be in, could you please give us a heads-up? I'd like to get that one, and I think some other people would like that one, too. Good luck with it.

(P.S. Please accept my apologies if you already know this- if you want to make sure you can find threads later on, you can click on "Add To Tracer" just above "Reply to Thread" near the bottom of this page, or you can click "trace" to the right of the "Last Message" dates for each thread in the Forum Home page. That'll make a list in your PM page of the thread titles/links that you want to keep track of.)
