My family has a recording of my grandfather singing this song, and I'm interested if anyone knows where I can find a complete transcription and if there are any known commercial recordings of it out there. I think the one you're looking for is "Shall We Gather at the River." It's it the database, search [gather at the river]. You can also find it in The Cyber Hymnal, complete with MIDI, at:

I have recorded versions by Red Foley, Tennessee Ernie Ford and Roy Rogers/Dale Evans. Think I'll dig 'em out now and have a listen.

There is also "When They Ring The Golden Bells", which starts out, There's a land beyond the river. . .

Tennessee Ernie did this one, too. You can also find it at the Cyber Hymnal.
