24 Dec 02 - 08:08 PM (#853355) Subject: RE: Wishing You a Merry Christmas From: RangerSteve It's taken me 53 years to grow up; I'm finally able to wait until tomorrow morning to open my presents. Just got done with church, where I was roped into contributing to the service with a song. I did "Good King Wenceslaus", my favorite carol, and one of the few well-known ones that sound good with claw-hammer banjo. Merry Christmas, everyone, and thanks to all who answered the threads that I started during the year. |

24 Dec 02 - 11:08 PM (#853407) Subject: RE: Wishing You a Merry Christmas From: JennyO Merry Christmas, everyone, from a fairly new, but already hooked Mudcatter. I feel a bond already! Maybe I'll get a secret Santa next year! It's 3pm here in Sydney, lovely mild weather, which is just as well, as we are having roast pork, with prawns to nibble on to start. Both my kids (George and Samantha) are coming in a couple of hours (other people to visit first), as well as my singing partner Sue, my good friend Rhymin' Simon, and my flatmate David is cooking the roast. And my son's wife Michelle is expecting a baby in July, so I will be a grandma for the first time soon. AND NO BUSHFIRES!!!! So life's pretty good. Not much money, but hey, money isn't everything! |

There sits, in my new home, THE MOST incredible tree......trimmed with potato peelers, kitchen utensils, and simple gifts from neighborhood children. Thank you Mudcatters, for helping me with new beginnings and strong friendships and for sharing the music. I listened to the Mudcat cd's tonight while trimming the tree, and am feeling very blessed to be a part of this amazing community. |

25 Dec 02 - 04:27 AM (#853466) Subject: RE: Wishing You a Merry Christmas From: bradfordian Seasons greetings 'catters everywhere. Having put my Mudcat CD set under the tree, it was the first "present" (& only one so far) opened and am now enjoying them before it gets too busy. Track 3 Plum seems very poinient at this time, Aine sings "peace ever after". I'm afraid that we shall always live in troubled times, but I know that all of us here at Mudcat will do our best to counter the negative aspects that affect our lives through our music. Wassail Brad. |

25 Dec 02 - 02:30 PM (#853646) Subject: RE: Wishing You a Merry Christmas From: katlaughing Merry, Merry Holly Daze to all of you. Thanks for being here another year. Love the various greeting cards you all have done! It is almost 1230p in COlorado. I've made a bunch of phone calls, just got dressed. Rog has the potatoes cooking and we will load up the food, pressies, dulcimer and psalteries to go to my sisters' house for dinner in about 30 minutes. We live in the banana belt of Colorado, very mild, so it was a nice surprise to wake to a very small amount of snow, enough to make it a white Christmas morning, but, alas...'tis all gone now.:-) We are enjoying the shirtsleeve weather, though. My sister and Mudcatter, bet, reports Fairbanks, Alaska warms up to about 2 degrees F. then cools down overight to about 7 below or more and, she likes it! She also noticed an interesting phenomenon...all of the streetlights and other illumination outside shine straight up into the sky, having to do with all of the frozen water lying around or something. She said they all looked like search lights, very different. Spoke to Spaw this morning. They are away with Ma-in-law, having a nice time; he and Karen sound really good and relaxed. May the new year bring you all that you desire. luvyakat and Rog |
