22 Oct 96 - 04:02 PM (#113) Subject: Lyric Request: Young Lady from Wheeling From: yanaga01@student.ucr.edu I'm doing research on the play "You Can't Take it With You" and I need to find the lyrics to a song which includes the lyrics "There was a Young Lady from Wheeling." If anyone has some information on where I might find this song, please let me know! Thanks. |

'There was a young lady from Ealing' (or Darjeeling in some versions that presumably date from the British occupation of India) It is a bawdy song and due to email protocol at this end I will send what I know to Digital Tradition under separate cover. The chorus is. That was a horrible song, sing us another one, just like the other one, sing us another one do. Verses are bawdy limericks that anyone in the audience can remember. See Digital Tradition's Little Moses. For a good collection of bawdy limericks try the Playboy Book of Limericks. Bert.
