28 Dec 02 - 08:47 PM (#854763) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Tomorrow is a Long Time by Ian and Sylvi From: Art Thieme Dylan wrote "Tomorrow". "Greenwood Side" is a traditional Appalachian version of a Child ballad ("Wife Of Ushers Well"?)I first heard recorded by Bob Gibson on a 1958 LP called OFFBEAT FOLSONGS on Riverside Records. We all wanted to partake of BEATNIK culture back then----Jack Kerouac & all---so I suppose this title was trying to tie Gibson's album in with that happening scene/movement. Art Thieme |
