When I was a lad, I had cause to be sad,
A very good friend I did lose,
O! I warrant you, Dan, you have heard of this man
His name it was Robinson Crusoe.

Oh Robinson Crusoe! Oh, Poor Robinson Crusoe!
He went off to sea and between you and me,
Old Neptune wreck'd Robinson Crusoe.

But he saved from aboard an old gun and a sword
And another odd matter or two,
So That by dint of his thrift he just managed to shift
and keep alive Robinson Crusoe

Oh, Robinson Crusoe, Poor Robinson Crusoe!
Whether tempest or Turk, or wild man or work,
No matter to Robinson Crusoe!

DRINKING SONG

My com-rades when I'm no more drinking,
But sick with gout or pal-sy lie,
Ex-haust-ed on my sick-bed sing-ing,
Be-lieve me, them my end is nigh.
But die I this day or to-mor-row,
My tes-ta-ment's al-read-y made:
My bur-ial from your hands I'll bor-row
But with-out splen-dor or pa-rade

And when me to my grave you're bringing,
Then follow afd-ter man, by man,
Let me and fun'ral bells be ringing,
But tink-ling glass-es be our plan.
and on my tomb-stone be inscrib-ed,
This man was born, lived, drank and died.
And now he lies here wo im-bib-ed
In all life's joy the purple tide.

THE HARDYY NORSEMAN

The har-dy Norse-man's home of yore
Was on the foam-ing wave!
And there he ghath-ered bright re-nown,
The brav-est of the brave.
Oh! Ne'er should we for-get our sires,
Wher-ev-er we may be;
They brave-ly won a gal-lant name
And rul'd the storm-y sea.

What tho' our pw'r be weak-er now
Than it was wont to be,
When bold-ly forth our fa-thers sail'd
And con-quer'd Nor-man-die!
We still may sing their deeds of fame
In thrill-ing har-mon-ny;
for they did win a gal-lant name
And rul'd the storm-y sea!

BARNEY BUNTLINE

One night came on a hur-ri-cane, the sea was mountains raolling,
When Bar-ney bun-line turn'd his quik and said to Bil-ly Bowl-ing:
A strong sou'-wes-ter's blow-ing, Bill,
O can't you hear it roar now;
God help 'em how I pit-ies all
un-hap-py folks a-shore now!

bow, wow, wow, rum-ti id-dy, rum-ti id-dy, bow, wow, wow.

Foolhardy chaps a lives in towns, what danger they are all in!
And now they're quaking in their beds for fear the roof should fall in.
Poor creatures, how the envies us,
and wishes, I've a notion,
for our good luck in such a storm
Go be upon the o-cean!

chorus:

songwright - you would have to cut and paste to a seperate file (as you do with ABC)

there are several packages out there that will play songwright.
