Lyr Req: What in the World's Come Over You?

Last night at church a friend asked me to help him find out who recorded What in the World's Come Over You as well as Burning Bridges. I remember the songs, but not the recording artist. I checked Cowpie and found that Ray Price recorded Burning Bridges. I could use some help.

"What in the World's Come Over You" sounds like "Speed of the Sound of Loneliness" written by John Prine and recorded by Nancy Griffith. Have the lyrics, but have to wait until lunch hour. (Just sneaking a peak right now. . .)

G'day,
I have a copy of "What in the World's Come Over You" on a compilation CD. According to the sleeve notes it was written and recorded by Jack Scott and was a hit in 1960.

Cheers,
Alan

"What in the World's Come Over you" can be found on Jack Scott's Greatest Hits CD, on Eddy Arnold's Greatest Hits CD and on Tom Jones' Country memories.

John Prine's lyrics to the song "Speed of the Sound of Loneliness" have a chorus that starts with "What in the world's come over you?" and can be found on The International Lyrics Server.

WHAT IN THE WORLD'S COME OVER YOU
As sung by Jack Scott & The Chantones, 1960

1. What in the world's come over you?
Seems we never get along.
Ev'ry night I reminisce,
Dreaming of your tender kisses.

2. What in the world's come over you?
Could you ever change your mind?
If you do, I'll still be here, dear,
Waiting, longing for you.

BRIDGE. All my life I've loved you so.
I never dreamed I'd miss you so.
Now alone in my bed each night,
My heart it cries; it's just not right.

REPEAT VERSE 2 & BRIDGE

3. What in the world's come over you?
You're still my angel from above.
Yes, you'll always be my one
And only, only real love.
