Pal Talk sessions?

Would love to meet and play with some Mudcatters on Pal Talk... does anyone plan sessions on any set schedule?

I still don't know how to do this, even if I wanted to. Can someone explain.

If you got to Paltalk.com, you download a little program and set it up. Free, but you get ads, unfortunately. It's a little hard to get all set up, but I did it, so you can.
Then you connect and sign in, choose the "groups" icon and look down the list for Music (there are tons of non music discussion groups - I've never even looked there) You also want to click on the Show Adult Groups box. In there you will find lots of rooms - some with people just playing CDs and such, some are kinda wierd, but some have amazing musicians all over the world.
So, people are sitting at their computers, playing and singing in a sort of cyber song circle. Can be really neat. If you want to join in, you need a mic, or fancier audio set up, and you just raise your hand (an icon), wait your turn and share your music.
Hope that answers your question.... maybe we can set a time for folks to try this...

suggestion-look for music rooms that specify live music
or you will get some lame karaoke sessions...
there have been some wonderful mudcat sessions
on there recently..dec 31 and jan 1--
you need to have a room moderator in order
for it to work well-so that if any one
comes in there and hogs the mike
or is in=appropriate they can be
booted out...lbut it is an awesome
way to connect with people, and
amazing to be able to share music
all over the world! (esp. if everyone
tunes to A=440, you can play along at
home,,,,) the m.c. or host can set up
a room any time, and it can be made
private so that folks have to be
inivited in or have to have a code word
th enter. if htis thread stays on top,
no doubt someone will see ai and open
a room there--FRANK?? are you out there?

Look for the magic words "live" and "acoustic" in music room titles. Both Frank of Toledo and Susan of DT have had rooms open in the past week or ten days. The Mudcat room is closed...the secret password is "DT", in caps.

There used to be an open session on Sunday afternoon/evenings (7.00pm GMT, 2.00pm Mudcat time/EST), but I got sick of sitting there for 2 hours alone because no-one else came, or else came and had no audio or mike, so it ended up being one or two people entertaining everyone, or me sitting like a lemon doing what we could do much better in the Mudchat.

I'm happy to open up the song sessions again at the same time if people want me to.

Just a little hint, can you put the date in the thread title if you're going to open a session? It gets a bit confusing for those of us with very little brain, getting all excited that there's a session going, only to find out it was yesterday.

Thanks.
