11 Jan 03 - 12:49 AM (#864151) Subject: RE: BS: Top Ten Conspiracy Theories From: Peg I wonder if poeple are actually looking at these. It's not about Illuminati-type conspiracy theories (well, most of it isn't)...but perfectly legitimate questions like, well, where DID Muhammed Atta's passport come from??? |

11 Jan 03 - 07:52 AM (#864296) Subject: RE: BS: Top Ten Conspiracy Theories From: McGrath of Harlow The biggest conspiracy theorists are in Government offices. The trouble is, when they believe in a conspiracy, it becomes real. The interesting thing is when, retrospectively, allegations that were dismissed at the time as "just another conspiracy theory" turn out to be true. Like the Gulf of Tonkin episode. I wonder if there's a department of Government whose job it is to make up and disseminate phony conspiracy theories, with the idea being that in all the confusion, the real conspiracies get covered over by the mass of phony ones... And that's a great conspiracy theory. |
