I think it's a Utah Phillips song- at least I had asked Larry Hanks for something by Phillips. Does anyone here know Larry Hanks? He was in town doing a concert. I didn't get to go because of my regularly scheduled Friday night song circle, but after the concert someone brought him up the hill to the house. Nice guy, good voice, very knowledgeable. He's an old Wobblie, lives nowadays in Bellingham Washington, on tour does a lot of Pete Seeger, Utah Phillips, Faith Petric and others of that honorable ilk. Anyway. This song is a beautiful one. It's not in the DT. I found it by google but no recording. What CD should I get? |

You will find a recording of 'Faded Roses' on Jody Stecher and Kate Brislin 'Heart Songs: The Old Time Country Songs of Utah Phillips' Rounder CD 0424. Great CD! --Stewie. |

Just this morning a musician friend of mine told me he'd bought a copy for me of that very CD! I had no idea that song is on there, but now I'm looking forward to the next time I see my friend. Serendipity- love it. |
