08 Jul 98 - 07:39 PM (#32104) Subject: New Orleans & Minneapolis From: Susan of DT Why didn't I think of this sooner? I will be in New Orleans Thursday thru Sunday morning and Minneapolis Sunday nite thru Wednesday afternoon (leaving tomorrow). Are there any sings or other folk events this week? Why not lighten a business trip. I can access the web on the road. Thanx. |

11 Jul 98 - 12:07 AM (#32279) Subject: RE: New Orleans & Minneapolis From: Nora If you don't hear from anyone else about Minneapolis with specific performances coming up, check out the Cedar Cultural Center on the West Bank in Minneapolis. There used to be Irish Jams at Sweeney's bar in St Paul on Sunday nights. Call ahead. There is another bar called the Halftime Wreck in St. Paul that has dancing and music some nights. The contradance website should have schedules and/or phone numbers if that interests you. (Use contradance to search Yahoo or whatever search engine you like) And tune in to KFAI 90.3 or 106.7 - there will be a huge variety of music and announcements including some folk music. There is a website you can find with the keyword KFAI to check out program schedules to see if anything suits you. The morning shows usually include some folk music in with everything else, as does the morning show on the Minnesota Public Radio music station, KSJN, at 99.5 FM. Have a good time Nora
