He liked my record - obviously he's a man of refined taste ;-) His magazine is called Traditional Music Maker and his name is Bryan Chalker. Do you know the mag and/or the writer? What can you tell me about either/both. He has a new show called "Caroline Country" broadcast on Radio Caroline via Sky Digital and (he says) hopefully Hotbird satellite channel. Do you know these radio channels? Any info you can pass on would be helpful. Thanks. |

It has very low readership figures, is generally very poor quality production for a 'magazine' and does an incredibly hard sell for advertising. Once they discover you have a CD the marketing guys will pursue you relentlessly. If you are serious about the UK market, there are other more high profile and better produced magazines to invest in advertising in ie Folk Roots and Living Tradition. There are also a host of small locally-produced but very well read folk listing mags with reviewers who will generally do this for free! Good luck Cheers Sarah |

From: clansfolk Have had dealings with this mag - asked for a two part article on making your first CD - first part sent & published - plenty of push for us to advertize with them - not taken up - Part 2 of article never saw daylight - ummmmm? Just had a look at the back issue page on their website - last one I could find was jun/july 2002 - bi-monthly??? take care....... |
