24 Jan 03 - 11:14 AM (#873825) Subject: Billy Joe Shaver interview & songs- NPR From: katlaughing Just heard an interview of this country singer/songwriter who songs have been covered by all kinds of big names including Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Bob Dylan. They also played some clips from his new CD. I really enjoyed the interview, he seems have a pretty honest way about himself and where he's been. And, he's been through a hell of a lot in the past three years, esp.: mother, wife and son all died, plus he had a major heart attack. The songs, while being country, were great to hear, too. My appreciation grew even greater when I saw him on Austin City Limits and realized he was missing three fingers on his right hand, playing only with his thumb and little finger.
