I couln't find any notation on the song, only chords, and it was a version from The Whites. I imagine you know the chords, but here it is anyway...

The Whites
Keep on the Sunny Side

D G D - / - - A - / - - D - / A - D -

There's a dark & a troubled side of life
Ther's a bright, there's a sunny side, too
Tho' we meet with the darkness & strife
The sunny side we also may view

D - G - / D - A - / D - G - / D A D -

Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side
Keep on the sunny side of life
It will help us ev'ry day, it will brighten all the way
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life

The storm & its fury broke today
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear
Clouds & storms will, in time, pass away
The sun again will shine bright & clear

Let us greet with the song of hope each day
Tho the moment be cloudy or fair
Let us trust in our Saviour away
Who keepeth everyone in His care

Peace, Rustic

I've got several print versions somewhere. If you can't find online, I can copy and snail mail to you.

WHY would you need the dots?

You hear the tune once, you play it.

Isn't that the way it works ?

You might have perfect pitch hearing Murray and be a musical genius but I don't and am not.

In Google Books, you can see KEEP ON THE SUNNY SIDE OF LIFE as is appeared in several old hymnals:

The Epworth Hymnal, No. 3, edited by J. M. Black (Cincinnati: Jennings & Pye, 1900), hymn #102.

The New Century Hymnal, edited by Will L. Thompson (East Liverpool, Ohio: Will L. Thompson, 1904), hymn #116.

Songs of Faith and Hope, edited by James M. Black (New York: Eaton and Mains, 1905), hymn #89.

They all say words by Ada Blenkhorn, music by J. Howard Entwisle. The oldest says "©1899 by J. Howard Entwisle."

That's interesting, Jim. Is it possible to find the original song online to see how the Carter Family version altered it?

Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side
Keep on the sunny side of life
You will feel no pain as we drive you insane
If you keep on the sunny side of life

learned from Dave Chandler in Northfield, MN, ca. 1970
