03 Feb 03 - 05:22 AM (#881164) Subject: Dartford Cancellation Feb 4 (UK) From: treewind Just in case anyone was going to go specially to hear us and hasn't heard already: We've had to cancel our gig at Dartford Folk Club tomorrow (Tuesday 4 Feb) because Mary's lost her voice. (not completely, but certainly not fit to sing to a paying audience) The folk club seem to have things well in hand with a last minute replacement guest - a bluegrass band, very different from what we do! -- Mary Humphreys and Anahata PS Next booking: Islington on 27th, followed by St Albans on 28th which Breezy has been publicising copiously. In between we're recording an Album for Wild Goose (hooray!) |

03 Feb 03 - 09:26 AM (#881276) Subject: RE: Dartford Cancellation (UK) From: My guru always said Mary: Sorry to hear about your lost voice! Nurse it gently back to health so we can hear you at your best again soon. Was looking forward to hearing you guys on Feb 28th but am off to the Mudcat gather at Portaferry that weekend. I'll raise a glass of Black & Vile in your honour! Recommend Port & Brandy in copious amounts in the meantime :-) Breezy: See if you can get Mary to do 'Flash Company' - she sings it so well! Piers will join in on the chorus *g* |

03 Feb 03 - 09:43 AM (#881288) Subject: RE: Dartford Cancellation (UK) From: treewind Hil, get down to Islington the night before if you can! Flash Company is not terribly likely to be on the programme because Islington is not a very chorus-y sort of club, but either venue we'll respond to requests if you're there... It's getting better now, but with a recording sesh coming up it wasn't worth the risk of singing hard and ruining it again. The usual remedies are being applied, including the sacrifice of a bottle of cooking whisky... Whatever you do, don't miss the Song Links launch on March 30 Anahata |

03 Feb 03 - 10:23 AM (#881311) Subject: RE: Dartford Cancellation (UK) From: treewind Making hot toddy is a waste of a nice bottle of Talisker (or Lagavulin or Laphroaig or Highland Park) single malt... Our gigs page always shows club web sites when available, but FYI Islington's is http://www.islingtonfolkclub.org.uk/ Oh and we're supporting Martyn Wyndham-Read at the Mad Nanny in April (not listed yet) Anahata |
