03 Feb 03 - 08:34 AM (#881243) Subject: Raggytash From: GUEST,Raggytash Well the first thread about a fund raiser for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat didn't get many hits so I'll try a different tack. On the 15th March at "The Wheel" in Golcar just outside Huddersfield the Wombat and I are to host our annual fund raiser for the Rescue Boat. The RNLI does not fund this inshore craft and they rely entirely on voluntary donations, ALL monies are used for the boat and equipment. The sessions are similar to the front room of the Plough during Whitby Folk Week, anyone who wants to sing does so and the rest of the assembled company join in. There will be 2 sessions, one from about 1.30ish till 5 ish the second from 7ish till when the Landlady throws us out. The Landlady (Brenda) has very kindly let us have the room free of charge and we will be running raffles and have a collection pot for loose change on the bar. As it is so close to St Patricks Day we will endeavour to have an "Irish" feel to at least part of the ceremonies. All are invited and if you could let us know if you are to attend it would assist Brenda in getting sufficient staff the cover the bar. Further details of how the find The Wheel will follow Thanks Nick PS We only occasionally turn someone upside down and shake them till their pockets are empty !!! Raggytash |
