Simple -- get your feet hennaed with ceremonial wedding designs and go barefoot!

(I know, only someone from California -- or possibly India -- would think of this...)

You're the bride I take it?

I don't think I've ever noticed what a bride is wearing on her feet anyway. But then I'm a bloke.

Mcgrath makes a good point!
Why are women so interested in shoes?
My ex-girlfrend had about 10 different pairs of shoes!

Not being a fashion consultant, it is difficult to say. How about these Doc Martin's?

What would be wrong with just "Di flats"?

Brides feet are usually covered by their long dresses. Does the fact you're thinking of something to the knee mean the dress is not floor length? Have you considered dance shoes? They are usually pretty comfortable. "Character shoes" have a heel, but the base is pretty wide so you're not so likely to fall over. Square dance shoes are usually lower.

What's a wedding wedding?

As to noticing women's shoes. You might not notice them, but I bet you notice the ankles & calves. The higher heels make the ankles look slimmer & legs just look nicer. Low is comfortable. When women wear slacks, they can wear shoes that look about like men's. They are comfortable & rarely noticed. They'd look awful with a skirt.

Desert boots are a fair alternative to Doc M's an dyou could paint them any colour you like.

Hey, it has very little to do with how you look. It has everything to do with how you feel about how you look. In other words, whether the shoes can be seen is not always the issue.

Look, here's a thought......Why not have the groom and his party come naked? Two great results here.........First, no one will give a damn what shoes you have on and second, everyone will be able to tell who the Best Man really is.............

John from Hull - I'm amazed at your ex-girlfriend's restraint in only having 10 pairs of shoes!

Have to be shoes you can dance in anyway. They make some lovely clogs you can buy at folk festivals our side of the ocean.

Ballet slippers are really comfortable, but don't offer much support. Look at a dance supply store. Low jazz boots might be an option if you don't want character shoe heels. The clogging shoes might also be an option. It really depends on the rest of the outfit and your own comfort. I decided on low heels and spent most of the day barefoot. I should have jusst worn the ballet slippers.

The only shoes I will wear are Birkenstocks, even with dresses and skirts. In fact, I once went to a semi-formal dance in a beautiful yellow brocade dress with my birks!

From what I've seen of weddings these days, one can waer whatever they wish, esp. if they are comfortable!

Anyway, Birkenstock does have some nice looking sandals which might suffice. If you waterproof them, just go without stockings, as we used to do in New England, and they'll just dry out as will your feet.:-) (That store is in Connecticut, USA, but I am sure you could find some over there.)

Have fun!

Well if you are so sure its gonna rain get yer wellies on - use spray paints from your local garage to brighten them up without damaging their water proof qualities!

Have a fun day whatever you wear.

OOh yes why not commission a pair of festival shoes or boots with a design to compliment the colour of the dress. They do loads of colours anyway - does anyone have a contact name or number?
