From: GUEST,Dick Ledbetter Re: Who recorded "Once There Were Greenfields:" I have a reel-to-reel recording ca 1959 by Terry Gilkyson and The Easy Riders, Rich Dehr and Frank Miller. Inasmuch as they wrote the song, presumably they were the FIRST to record it. For a nice write-up on Gilkyson, go to www.elizagilkyson.com. I think you will recognize other titles therein.
