From: Joe Offer Hi, oombanjo - I changed the title of the thread to show that you're looking for banjo tab, but it appears that we don't have a MIDI for the conventional tune for "Sweet Sunny South." We have a "Bright Sunny South" MIDI, but it's a bit different. If somebody wants to e-mail it to me, I'll make sure it gets posted. Found the song on Kate Lissaeur's CD - "Ain't no Grave", but played on fiddle, not banjo. Sat down tonight playing with different tunings, and am coming near to SOMETHING which fits the overall "feel" of the tune. If I find time to get further on with it before you find what you want, I'll show you my take on the tune! So far the best banjo tuning seems to be :- D B-flat G D . G Quack! Geoff. |

Being a song rather than a fiddle tune, you can play it in whatever key you can sing it in, but with fiddle players, we usually do it in G.
