"Backyard shine" was contributed by the NLCR in the 60s, who either had a scratchier copy of the record or were practicing some early PC -- more likely the former, since they point out the phrase and that they don't know what it means (something to do with moonshine?). |

According to both the Meade and Russell discographies, this is the only recording Uncle Dave made of the song. The transcriber for the book accompanying the Bear Family set gives 'For the black gal to shine on the Georgia line', but this also is clearly wrong! --Stewie. |
