Hi,

For our next sing along gig my group
needs the chords for "Blue Hawaii". We need the ukulele and
guitar chords.

Thanks

All I found was books to order; I didn't find tab/chords on line.

Yeah, books to order were all I found too.
Since we're not getting paid for this gig,
(it's a fundraiser), I didn't want to invest
in a whole songbook. I was hoping some
smart Mudcatters had the chords....

The chorus (the part most of us know) has pretty easy chords. In D, it's D G, B7, E(7) and A7.

I don't have time to post where they go. (I'll try to do it later if no one beats me to it.) But if you know the tune, you can 'hear' where they go.

BLUE HAWAII
    D                   G       D
Night & you & blue Hawaii,
        B7         E7             A         A7           D
The night is heavenly & you are heaven to me.
  D                  G        D
Lovely you & blue Hawaii;
         B7         E7                       A           D    G  D
With all this loveliness, there should be love.

    G                                 D
Come with me while the moon is on the sea.
         E7                   A        A7
The night is young & so are we.

     D                           D        D
Dreams come true in blue Hawaii,
          B7           E7
And mine could all come true
          A       D         G               D
This lovely night of nights with you.

Thank you, thank you! Now if I can just find
a muumuu that doesn't make me look like
a flowered tent....

Thanks, Sorch,
Somewhere in my files I had the attribution, but I couldn't find it last night. I think the copyright date is mid 1930s.

Just to avoid confusion, Indiana University Sheet Music Collections lists TWO songs called BLUE HAWAII:

BLUE HAWAII
Abel Baer, Irving Caesar, Ira Schuster, 1929
First Line: Those golden days of bliss, those nights I learned to kiss,...
Chorus First Line: Dreaming of the blue skies, bluer than the sea,...

BLUE HAWAII
Leo Robin, Ralph Rainger, 1937
First Line: Perfume in the air and rare flowers ev'rywhere,...
Chorus First Line: Night and you and blue Hawaii, the night is heavenly...

The second one is the one Elvis sang in the 1961 film, "Blue Hawaii."

(Who knew it was older than the film?)

Jim, the chords I posted are the ones I use for that song on guitar.
Unless you looking for tabs or chord diagrams, I guess I don't understand your last post.
