Hey, Mortie, that's a description of me before the weekend! Whereas now.... *grin*

Yes, a splendid weekend- not only the Middle Bar Singers' reunion, but also the reunion of the session at the Radway, so I spent a few hours playing with them too! Mucho friendly people at both events, the sun shone and I was at the seaside. Bliss.

Oh Alas what a woeful life when people pay you good money so that you
miss things like the middle bar reunion.I am glad the weekend went well and I can only say our Gig went very well too.I think i will NOT take any bookings at all for next year,no matter how good the money.

Well a certain person obviously didn't think you looked like a train wreck.... Eh Morty?

Wonderful to meet many familiar (I won't say old!) faces, and put a face to a few new Catter names as well.

Oh yes, the singing wasn't bad, either.

Well, I'm glad I had a good time in Sidmouth, because I've now had confirmation that the hot water tank in my flat is leaking - I've arranged to have it, and the boiler, replaced next week.

Damnation.... Bestest friend decided to get married that weekend so I missed it... have they decided to send the bailifs for the fine I still owe them?

Glad you all had a good time. Next year (spit spit on fingers) in Jerusalem!!

Nice to see the Reunion is still going - I made the first five or six- never made it through the 24 hours tho'!

I was once stopped dead midway though a song because somebody produced a ferret right in front of me!! - no professionalism that's my problem

Sorry to hear about the boiler Kitty

Had a great time myself too:-

* chatting to many good friends, some of whom are Mudcatters - nice to see you all again
* using my new campervan - and it worked!
* singing some songs - some of which went down pretty well
* joining in with loads of other wonderful songs - there were some great harmonies
* going to two parties - thanks Jude
* busking with my concertina on the seafront and making the princely sum of £3.67 in 40 minutes (including a total of 5p from other MB Singers!) - what fun!
* being invited by Tony Day to help to officiate on the bench - what an honour!
* being invited to perform in an occasional group later in the year - looking forward to it Mike
* enjoying further entertainment in the Forest of Dean on my way back - thanks Sandy! AND, NOT LEAST
* finding out yesterday that my mate, Chris Gorniac's important pow-wow with his doctors went very, very well - and that we should all be singing with him again soon!

Looking forward to seeing you all again at the folk festival in August and before!

"Round goes the wheel of fortune ...!"
Alan
PS Sorry to hear about the boiler, Kitty - not too expensive I hope!

Thanks for the commiserations, Elfcall and Alan. I guess the cold shower at the Marlborough on Sunday morning (when everybody had the idea of getting up and showering at the same time and the circuit breaker tripped) was good practice for next week. The singing in the Anchor and the Red Lion survivors' session was really good though.
