In answer to your question.Like you I am a west 'uller, but I have to say, although we do not play much in 'ull these days, some of our more outstanding successes have happened in the east end of our fair city. This was in the pre-oakley days. With the added brilliance of aforesaid fresian, owl loving?(abusing)fiddle playing farmer, who knows what could happen. The world awaites with baited breath! Hope to see you all on saturday night. ps.and on sunday at sun. |

28 Feb 03 - 11:43 AM (#900404) Subject: RE: Punch the Horse on Hedon Road From: Joe Offer This is and excerpt from one of the many complaints I get about the large number of "Punch the Horse" threads; I am usually slow to be irritated, but like many I am getting really tired of seeing so many Punch the Horse threads when their announcements could be kept under just one thread titled Punch the Horse. If everyone on Mudcat with a band posted a new thread for each gig they play it would be overwhelming. In the interest of controlling the proliferation of threads, as you have wisely recommended, have you asked the band to keep it to just one thread for announcements?Could I ask you to keep it to one thread per group per month? I realize the Punch the Horse threads are kind of a gathering place for the Hull folkies, and I don't see why that should end - just cut down on the number of threads and increase the number of messages per thread. There's a Punch the Horse Web Page here (click). Their gig list is from 2002. I wonder why they don't keep it up-to-date. If somebody will send me an up-to-date schedule for the group's perrformances, I'll post it in the first message of this thread. Thanks. -Joe Offer- |

01 Mar 03 - 05:55 AM (#900974) Subject: RE: Punch the Horse - Upcoming Gigs From: smallpiper They are just a band and since the Hull area has one of the largest single concentrations of catters in the world and I think that the info passed by these threads is amusing and entertaining - why shouldn't they use the forum? After all it is (mostly and alligidley)music related unlike a lot of war and politics threads which often doninate the forum. If you don't like them don't read them! |
