28 Feb 03 - 06:29 PM (#900704) Subject: RE: Folklore: Mark Dvorak in toledo, Oregon From: Frankham Francy, Mark didn't exactly study banjo with me. He has been a great banjo picker for a long time. He is a major vital force at the Old Town School of Folk Music, a born educator and performer. He has a winning way with an audience but he conveys the spirit and essence of American folk music following in the tradition of Pete Seeger, Mike Cooney and others from the Folk Revival. He is a good friend and I am a fan. He has much to teach us. But I can't take credit for his great banjo playing. Frank Hamilton |
