Valley of the Animals @ Pant Glas songs?

Heya, I am re-reading Elma M. Williams' book Heaven on my doorstep published in 1970. She wrote several others before that, but this one tells of how she came to support herself and all of her critters in a place in Wales which became known as the Valley of the Animals at Pant Glas.

I am wondering if any of our members have been there, if it her place still exists, and if there were ever any songs written about it.

Thanks!

kat

I think I may be able to help, Kat. Borth is where I go to collect driftwood for my crafts, and I go through Taliesin to get there. I'm planning a trip there on Thursday, as I have an errand in Machynlleth, which is on the way.
I'll have a look and report back!!

Cheers, Bron.

I have been doing a little research prior to my trip tomorrow, and have unearthed some interesting stuff.
The valley of the animals appears not to exist any more, but I've pinpointed the place, and have discovered that Pant Glas is now occupied by G Chapman and his son Michael, both of whom are physical mediums. You can get further information by putting their names into a search engine.

I feel very strongly that I was intended to give you this information, Katlaughing, as I have been taking part in a spirit circle recently, and am becoming more aware of the spirit world.

The nearest village is Trae'r Ddol, and the full address is on Michael Chapman's website.

Cheers, Bron.

Bron, thank you, very much That is something I have no small experience in and am always interested, esp. when someone I trust tells me they have a strong feeling about it, as you've done. I will certainly take a look at their information.

Her valley, as she describes it in the book, certainly sounds very mystical/blessed and I would love to see it one day. If you haven't read her book and/or can't get a copy of it, I'd be happy to send you my copy once I've finished with it.

I look forward to hearing more after your trip. Thanks, so much,

kat

I'll take some pictures of the area, to give you some idea of how it looks. I never tire of looking at the landscape here, and there are a lot of mystical sites, and SO MUCH folklore!!

Cheers, Bron.

Thanks! That's what my mediumistic friend from Wales has always told me and I do believe her! I hope I get to see it some time.

I meant to say that the book appears to be unavailable here, so I would like the opportunity to read it, please.

I haven't made your mobile yet, I will do it this week.

Cheers, Bron.

These messages seem very old but I have only just come across them as I googled Pant Glas Valley of Animals. My interst is because my grandparents sold Pant Glas to Elma Williams when they reired from the farm in 1955. I visited with my late mother who was born there quite often until Elma Williams' death. I saw many of the animals and had my photo taken with Bunble the pig (featured in her book 'Pig in Paradise'.
My late grandfather was referred to in Miss Willams' book, 'The Pant Glas Sorty'.
I last visted Pant Glas over 20 years ago when George Chapman owned Pant Glas.
It has been altered to the point that my grandparents would not recognise it, a great shame, but that is progress I suppose. Gone is the whitewashed small holding and replaced by a very modern looking house.

I spent many good times at Pant Glas after Elma's death. The animals were cared for by some wonderful people and I was honoured to be able to help. Goats, dogs, horses, poultry, sheep and cats. It was a place where all animals were happy and a place that I'll never forget. I would have loved to meet Elma.
