While I would not be so insensitive as to describe a major world religion as BS, I feel that in terms of normal Mudcat classification that as where topics of this nature go ( personally I dont like the separation, but that is how it is meant to be done at the moment).

Sarah, what is the point of this thread? Is it meant to be provocative? Meant to inspire people to come to know this religion, so as to create understanding? Or are you just playing?

Please give us the predicate you are creating.

Mick, I think Sarah is trying to get up the cash to be inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.

Mick,

Sarah is a guest with a name, but she wasn't up front that this site is called "Islam Question and Answer." There are a large number of non-christians on this list, but I won't venture a guess as to the number of muslem members.

Sarah could be someone who is out trolling, to see what kind of bite she gets from posting an overtly pro-moslem page. Is she for or against a religious group that tries to explain itself to a secular world?

I will observe that these are such desperate times for anyone running such a list, trying to reach out as openly as possible to snatch peace from the mouth of Dubya's war that such trolling could backfire. So if she's trolling, she probably won't be back, unless it is to argue with someone silly enough to post a bigoted anti-muslem remark, or to join in gung-ho as an anti-muslem.

She's chumming, Mick.

That should have been "gung-ho pro-muslem."

And I still think she's chumming.

chumming? That's a new one to me. Please define.

Chumming is to cast chopped-up bait into the water to attract sharks or other fish. It's a step up from trolling, a lot messier. (Trolling is to drag a single bait through the water to catch fish.)

But when you chum you aren't hooking the bait on a line -- it just starts them coming around, and you can then hook them individually, or net them, once the school runs over.

Good word for it.   I have to wonder about the kind of mindlessness involved, though. It's not communication, it's just slather posters up, which immediately ensures they won't penetrate most people's shields right there!
