For South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, see  http://www.folk-network.com/directory/calendar.html#Thursday. As ever, no guarantees that some haven't changed and not told me. There will soon be a listing for the whole of Yorkshire at  Yorkshire Folk Arts, but everything has to be checked first.

I can recommend the Ossett Singers club in Ossett, West yorks - close to J40 of the M1. Held in the back room of the Brewer's Pride brew pub it has been going for 20+ years and will be there this week.

Despite the name it is not a club but a singaround, there is no entry charge and everyone performs from where they are in the room.

I moved away four years ago but I'm visiting tomorrow

You can also check the listings in the Stirrings Mag and the South Yorkshire Folk Network listings from the Links Section on this page.

I recommend my local session, the Lamb at Oxenhope near Keighley. Good atmosphere, mainly music but also singing, mainly Irish but also Scottish/American/whatever, depends who turns up. PM me if you want further details.

Sorry for delay in replying. Skip n I are looking for a session to play in this evening. We don't want to gatecrash, just go along, play some tunes and enjoy ourselves.

Lynn, where abouts in Oxenhope? Would people get their noses put out if 2 strangers walked in and joined in._We are not after doing a set! Just playing along in a session.I know Oxenhope, it's not far away from Cleckheaton, and may check it out.

Thanks everyone.

Any more info? I don't think the Sun at North featherstone is on tonight is it? Will check back around 18.00hrs, then it's decision time.

Skip if you log on, take a look and check out what yopu think.

The red lion Jackson Bridge (nr Holmfirth) if it`s the second thursday. 8-9 ish start. A somewhat irish nuance (dependant on who is there) Sarah(Guest) might confirm if she reads this. or even folkie dave. I haven`t been to it for a number of months.(Nook instead)
