Lady I received tape from said the song was entitled "The Auction" played in Bb and was By Dolly Parton.. Tape has several other selections: "The Chance You Took With Me" "Yellow Roses" Band Has a Sound similar to A band that I heard at Dolly Wood consisting of Dolly"s relaltions some years back. It was written by Jamie O'Hara and recorded by Tanya Tucker (not Dolly Parton). Tucker's recording appears on her 1991 album "What Do I Do with Me?" and a couple of compilations. Stacy Dean Campbell also sang it on his 1999 album "Ashes of Old Love." You can find a couple of sound samples at Yahoo! Music. According to a couple of other web sites, verse 4 line 2 should be: "That we know your family's worked that land for years". |
