Subject: Lyr Req: Looking Lyrics of Jansch's 'Just a dream
From: GUEST,Marco B.

Hi, I'm looking for the lyrics of the Bert Jansch' song: "Just a dream", from CD "When the circus comes to town".
From the same CD I'm looking for the lyrics of: "Summer Heat"; "Morning brings peace on mind" and "Walk quietly by".
I'm interessed about every song/tab of Jansch, my favourite artist.

Please, help me!!!

Marco.

JUST A DREAM
(Written by Bert Jansch)
As sung by Bert Jansch on "When the Circus Comes to Town" (1995)

A-walkin' along on a summer day
When I met a man come the other way.
I said, "How do you do, my friend?
How do you do today?"
He looked so pale; his face was drawn.
He said "My friend, I wish I'd never been born.
I'm a-lookin' for my long-lost soul.
I had it only yesterday.
Now there was a time when I could build a ship.
I'd build it proud and strong.
On the seven seas it would sail along,
And now it's only just a dream."

I met a woman on the same highway.
I looked in her eye but she turned away.
I said, "How do you do, my friend?
How do you do today?"
She said, "In this land there's a place for me,
A paradise and the water comes free,
Or is it just a crazy dream
That's floatin 'round inside my head?
Now there was a time we would stand and fight
Instead of turnin'.
Let our voices sing out in harmony,
And now it's only just a dream."

Hand in hand came a boy and girl.
He whistled a tune; she sang a song.
I said, "How do you do, my friends?
How do you do today?"
"Now we don't know what we should learn,
What books to keep, what books to burn.
What a funny old world this is!
Keeps changing from day to day.
Now there was a time when it was right and wrong.
It was black and white.
It was easier to get along.
Now it's only just a dream."

MORNING BRINGS PEACE OF MIND
(Bert Jansch)

First sounds of the day
So beautiful to hear
In the clear bright sunlight that comes flooding
Crystal clear voices, so happy in the street
Oh the new day beginning is so near.

My restless heart's never still
Turning and tossing through the night
Thoughts running wild in confusion
People and places all jumbled in my mind
Oh the new day beginning is so near.
[live version: Oh the new day beginning's young and clear.]

Morning brings peace of mind
And the birds are singing in the air
Gone are the nightmares a-running
And the fear of the darkness has vanished with the light
Oh the new day beginning is so near
Yeh the new day beginning's young and clear.

WALK QUIETLY BY
(Bert Jansch)

Walk quietly by, he won't bother you
He's a busy man, he's got things to do
All day long he's happy in his world
Picking up the leaves
Cleaning up his own back yard

In summer heat, in winter snow
You'll find him picking up the papers that people throw
All day long he's happy in his world
Picking up the leaves
Cleaning up his own back yard

There's no rhyme nor reason, walking the streets of this wide world
Can't find anything to rest this troubled mind
Please help me I keep asking
Everybody's so busy that they wont stop
I got to keep on moving,to rest this troubled mind

He dosn't care, nor does he know
Of the outside world that comes and goes
All day long he's happy in his world
Picking up the leaves
Cleaning up his own back yard

So walk quietly by, he won't bother you
He's a busy man, he's got things to do
All day long he's happy in his world
Picking up the leaves
Cleaning up his own back yard
