17 Mar 03 - 11:02 AM (#911934) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: approaching lavender From: John Hardly One of my favorite albums! I've still got an original cover "Sit Down Young Stranger" and, when I bought a new copy ('cause I wore out the first....ah, the downside of vinyl), I got a copy of "If You could Read My Mind" ..I like the first album better ;-) |

17 Mar 03 - 11:45 AM (#911991) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: approaching lavender From: GUEST,Dale Right, John Hardly. I also have the "Sit Down Young Stranger" LP. The name was changed to cash in on the popularity of "If You Could Read My Mind." A really good album, but for me, none compare to the very first GL album with the brown cover. I bought it strictly for that easy-going Lightfoot sitting in a chair, guitar in hand. I was never sorry. My favorite example of multiple versions of an album was the original Don Williams album, available on JMI, DOT, ABC-DOT, MCA and I can't remember what all other combinations. I used to THINK I had them all, but I suppose I didn't catch them all. Like the Lightfoot albums, I don't think any of them were more valuable than the others. |
