Come-All-Cats!

Singaround / Session at the Bull Pub in Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire, UK (use postcode MK45 4LL for map search) on Monday 24th March, kicking off at 8.30pm.

All acoustic instruments & voices very welcome at this cosy venue and we're always glad to see new faces :-)

It's held fortnightly to run in tandem with the music workshop which is hosted by the University of Luton on alternate Saturday mornings.

Come if you can, but if you can't then perhaps you can come to the next one which will be on Monday 7th April :-)

Hi Guru

Crikey, that came around fast

Better learn how to play the guitar again

Have a good time in Manchester

It's been a full moon this week & mystic Meg says it effects me testicles - is this true? - should be a thread

No way Ross, I love my shaky Pringles container!

My war is going OK. Hats off to the radical students from Roundwood Park School who demonstrated by walking out of lessons yesterday, and the sixth form who took the demo into town where it seemed to fizzle out, rather than being the catalyst for revolution as I had hoped. Harpenden's means of production, unfortunately, are still owned and controlled by the few. I believe St. Albans really put on a good show of support for peace. My personal 'walk out' of work went completely unnoticed. Big marches tomorrow in London, Fairford (Glos.) or Menwith.

I have just learnt that Oscar Ceremony will be protected by the US national guard, perhaps local scout troop could protect the session at The Bull, Barton le Clay.

Piers

Don't miss Leon Rosselson tonight (21/3), Comfort Hotel, St. Albans.

Sheffield Telegraph - '…Proof that the art of songwriting is not dead'

Washington Post - 'His songs are teeming with colourful characters, wonderfully descriptive passages and witty observations'

Taplas - 'One of the most able songwriters or our times'

Young people of today - it's ghastly how they behave

How are we going to get medals without a war?

It's not Baghdad that should be frightened

Guru in Manchester could be called a weapon of mass exhalation

Good luck for the gig tonight with LR

I would be there but the road through Luton's not too safe - Iraqi's have taken junction 9 on the M1

Good luck with your shaky

The Bull has been secured for Monday - minefields laid

Guru: Hope you said 'hello ' to Manchester for me.I mis-spent my youth & early middle-age singing in the local clubs.
Sorry - Anahata & I won't be there tonight. Must get an early night after several very late ones. Hope you all come to the Song Links concert on Sunday - even if it is on the day you lose an hour's sleep because of BST.(Nothing to do with mad cows....)
Have a good session.

Maybe we could persuade you & Anahata along to another Extravaganza - they're having the next one in October & it's to be hoped that it will continue on from there :-)

My ticket for 'Song Links' is in pride of place on the mantelpiece - it's going to be such a good day - can't wait!

Here are the words to the other song I sung - it's called `To be Free'

Chorus                                  We will run to the sea, to the sea

We will fight what will be, history

We will run to the sea to the sea

We will fight to be free, to be free

Our people began as an Island race

Protected by the tides, kept us in our place,

Romans, Vikings, Angles too

All contributed to this island stew

Chorus                                  We will run to the sea, to the sea

We will fight what will be, history

We will run to the sea to the sea

We will fight to be free, to be free

William came & conquered all

An arrow in the eye was Harold's fall

The Normans won, but didn't know when

They all ended up as British men

Chorus                                  We will run to the sea, to the sea

We will fight what will be, history

We will run to the sea to the sea

We will fight to be free, to be free

The Pope & Rome ruled all afar

Lands & religions caused all the wars

Good old Henry drew the line

Then we left the Armada sinking in the brine

Chorus                                  We will run to the sea, to the sea

We will fight what will be, history

We will run to the sea to the sea

We will fight to be free, to be free

Revolutions & civil wars

Napoleon threatening our southern shores

People power, democracy

The British Navy now rules the seas

Chorus                                  We will run to the sea, to the sea

We will fight what will be, history

We will run to the sea to the sea

We will fight to be free, to be free

Victorian power set the world on fire

The sun never setting on her great Empire

Scientists, the Arts & Technology

We take to the air, to cross the seas

Chorus                                  We will run to the sea, to the sea

We will fight what will be, history

We will run to the sea to the sea

We will fight to be free, to be free

Global wars marked the last Century

Our world has the scars from the fight, to be free

Gradually the world finds democracy

From our island place to humanity

Chorus                                  We will run to the sea, to the sea

We will fight what will be, history

We will run to the sea to the sea

We will fight to be free, to be free
