BS: Language conversion site

Hi, can anyone help me. A while ago I found a site which converts phrases into a number of language styles. I think I followed a link someone posted on a mudcat thread. Can anyone help me find that site.
Thanks.

look below and see the word "Translate". Don't feel embarrassed - I was told in exactly the same way.

I found out about this site, here at the Mudcat, and used to use it because they had a free online service, but I don't see it anymore: click.

Seems to me I remember a more recent one, but it's not coming to me at the moment. Someone will remember, I am sure.:-)

Good luck,

kat

Are you referring to 'babelfish'?

babelfish is on alta vista-from a book (restaurant at the end of the universe?) it is a thing which if inserted in one's ear allowed you to understand what any one saidin any language
stick it in your ear

The AltaVista site doesn't allow for longer chunks of text now, like it used to. But it is still very useful. For serious translation, however, one must have a book of verb tenses to go along with it, for double-checking. And for diacritical marks, best type it in Word then cut and paste the text into the window. Without diacriticals it doesn't work properly--it doesn't make assumptions about their presence if you can't type them in.

Are you talking about a translator, or about the dialectizers on this thread: BS: Dialect
