Does anyone remember going to The Swan Folk Club in Wadebridge, Cornwall. It would be nice to hear from friends from those good times.

Was that before the Stable loft in the Molesworth Arms with Mervyn and Charlie?
If so , sorry but no.

I vaguely remember a club run by Brenda Wootton and John the Fish, but can't remember the venue. You know what they say about remembering the 60s!!
Giok

Yes it was, but I remember Mervyns club well. I see his wife very often.
Brenda and John visited The Swan, but the club was run by Larry.

MacLaughlin yes. Breezy, do you recall the two girls who sang with them then?. Also anyone know what happened to Taff who sang at the Swan. He was stationed at St Mawgan at the time.

I can only remember as far back as Mervyn's club - I did two gigs there - lovely place. When Linda and myself were down there the other year, we had a few drinks in the "Ring 'O Bells" in memory of "The old Bugger".

Have you seen the British Library Sound Archive's catalogue at www.bl.uk/collections/sound-archive? Click on "Search the Sound Archive Catalogue" and search for "Wadebridge": you'll find references to some recordings made in The Swan in the 1960s (including one of Mervyn Vincent) as well as some others made in The Ship in the 1990s, in case they're of interest.

Had a booking there once, arranged by Brenda Wooton - really enjoyed it.

Roses,
Though I did not frequent the club run by Larry Mac, I have heard many tales fondly told by my husband Kevin and his father Gordon. The 2 girls that you ask about were Sylvia and Rowena, who still sing together and are now part of Thorn and Roses who you asked about in another thread!
Cheers,
Lucy
